Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises (CPPE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Sekayan as its new Chief Executive Officer following approval by the Board of Directors. Sekayan has served as Interim CEO since October 2025, providing steady leadership while advancing the organization’s mission to support student success and enhance experiences within the Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) community.
Following a national search, the Board unanimously selected Sekayan to lead CPPE into its next chapter. His extensive experience in higher education auxiliary services, collaborative leadership style, operational and financial expertise and unwavering commitment to students distinguished him throughout the search process.
“During this period [as Interim CEO], Thomas has led with integrity, transparency and a clear focus on strengthening CPP Enterprises while remaining grounded in our mission and values,” said Christina Gonzales, Vice President of Student Affairs and CPPE Board of Directors Chair.
Since joining CPPE as Chief Operating Officer in 2022, Sekayan has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s operations and strategic initiatives. In his previous role, he oversaw the Bronco Bookstore, Dining Services, Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel, Marketing and Sponsored Enterprise Programs, helping strengthen collaboration across departments while enhancing services that support the campus community.
A Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP), Sekayan brings more than 18 years of experience in higher education auxiliary enterprises. He began his career in Student Affairs at the University of Southern California, then California State University, Northridge, before managing commercial business operations at the University Enterprises Corporation at California State University, San Bernardino. Throughout his career, he has led major operational initiatives, including contract negotiations, request-for-proposal processes and third-party service partnerships, with a focus on operational excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. At CPP, one notable achievement under his leadership was the establishment of CPP Farms branded ice cream, capturing the attention of news media nationwide.
Reflecting on his appointment, Sekayan shared his enthusiasm for the future of the organization.

As CEO, Sekayan will continue leading CPPE’s efforts to expand services, strengthen campus partnerships and advance initiatives that enrich the Bronco experience. The Board is confident that his leadership, vision and dedication will build upon the organization’s momentum and position CPPE for continued success.
